What we do

Fluna is a pan-African trade finance marketplace for African business to access credit and market intelligence tools. The marketplace is built on a fully-digital platform which allows Fluna to underwrite transactions 12x faster than traditional commercial banks and automate financial data reporting. We have onboarded 100+ exporters and deployed $20m+ in trade finance over the last 18 months. Fluna’s mission is to close the $81B trade finance gap opportunity in Africa with a particular focus on agriculture opportunities due to the high potential for economic development and female-led job creation - over 60% of the population in Sub-Saharan Africa and 23% of GDP is involved in agriculture (source).

We are backed by world class investors such as Ventures Platform, Voltron Capital, V8 Capital and CrossBoundary.

About our portfolio

We offer investors exposure to a diversifed pool of trade finance transactions from high-growth, profitable mid-market African exporters that work with buyers in the US and Europe. We’ve deployed over $20m in trade finance no defaults and our pool is diversifed across sectors and geographies. Our transactions are originated via an expansive network of partners such as Avocado Society of Kenya, International Trade Center - SheTrade, Import Promotion Desk. Our capital helps African businesses meet unfilled demand from global buyers while catalyzing economic development and employment across local communities.

**What is trade fianance? ”**Trade finance is self-liquidating, recession-proof and not impacted by central bank interest rate policy. The underlying assets are diversified, because you can have a grains transaction between Ukraine and Africa and an oil transaction between Brazil and China. The secured and short-term nature of trade finance transactions have historically kept default rates low.” - S&P Global

For this first pool on Atlendis, we are looking to raise $500k in USDC stablecoin to fund existing and new exporters looking for trade finance. Public examples include:

🇬🇭 Complete Farmer - an agro-commodity exporter based in Ghana

🇰🇪 Lusoi Green - a fresh vegetable and herb exporter based in Kenya

🇳🇬 Tinker & Bell - a hibiscus exporter based in Nigeria
